Race Day Schedule:
6:30am - Festival area opens, packet pickup, day-of registration begins
7:20am - Dan Evans sings "The Star-Spangled Banner"
7:30am - 5K and 10K start time for all participants (wave start)
8:00am - Season 5 Dan Evan's performs live on Festival Stage
8:45am - 5K and 10K Run awards at Festival Stage*
9:00am - 5K course closes for all participants
9:00am - Kids Fit One Mile Fun Run start time for all participants
9:15am - 5K and 10K Walk awards at Festival Stage*
9:45am - 10K course closes for all participants
*All winners must be present to receive their award. No awards will be mailed out.
10K is double-loop course
Rain or Shine:
This event will take place rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
For the safety of all participants, the following are prohibited: bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards and all motor-driven vehicles.
Portable toilets, fluid replacement and first aid will be available on the course. Certified medical personnel will be available at the start and finish areas of the race.
All 5K and 10K participants will be chip-timed.
*Please note: All participants must wear their race bib in order to have their times recorded. Race Results will be posted at BiggestLoserRunWalk.com
shortly after the race.
Gear check will be available for all participants on race day. Please tear off the gear check tag from the bottom of your race bib and attach it to your bag.
Participants will receive FREE downloadable race photos!
There will be photographers along the course snapping your photo for some great action shots, but make sure to stop by the finish line festival to take your official finisher's photo!
*Please note: Your race bib is how your photos will be tagged to yourself, so make sure to wear it on race day in a clear visible spot on the front of your clothing. You will receive an email when your photos are available for viewing, complete with easy links to share on Facebook and Twitter!
Runner Secure Zone/Finish Line:
Once you cross the finish line you'll enter a Runner Secure Zone - a fenced off area for race participants only. You will receive water, sports drink, and food.
For this race, participants and volunteers will be able to park in a designated lot at no charge. More details coming in the pre-race email.
We welcome all spectators to cheer on participants and loved ones! Spectators will not be allowed to enter the park during the race; however, they may remain at the start/finish line or in the designated parking lot area.
You must bring a photo ID to pick up your own race bib and timing chip at packet pick-up. No one else can pick up your packet for you.
Race bibs are required to participate.
No coaches, handcycles, bikes, in-line skates, skateboards or dogs will be allowed on the course.
Course Time Limit:
Participants have 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete the 10K (22 min/mile pace). 5K participants have 1.5 hours to complete the course (30 min/mile pace). The course has a rolling course closure. If you fall behind this pace, the roads will be reopened to normal traffic and you will be a pedestrian and subject to normal traffic rules.
Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Sorry, no exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. You also may not transfer your application to the following year or another event. If you attempt to sell your race number, you may be banned from future events for three years.
